right now cooling off. 48 degrees in santa rosa, mid 50s san francisco and mid 40s wall net creek and 47 right now in livermore. we have partly cloudy skies out there, seeing a few high clouds roll in, drifts from this low pressure center, i should say trough right here that will actually bring us some rain. it's been about a week and half. we've been dry for sometime but we'll see the changes move in and it will be early as wednesday morning. let me pick it up here at this hour. you can see the high clouds over the bay area. they will be gone tomorrow morning. we'll wake up with high clouds and temperatures very similar to where we've been. so it will be another chilly start. tuesday afternoon we begin to see the clouds increase and then by wednesday morning looks like the morning drive is going to be mainly dry. but as we get into the 9:00, 10:00-hour it's moving into the north edge of the county. it wants to stay north. you can see we're into wednesday evening and this system exiting the area. so a few sprinkles expected, perhaps traces over the south bay, the north bay will see measu

and december where we had twice as much rainfall as we should have. we're still doing great. santa rosa, 117% normal. oakland, 103, and san jose, 104% of normal. we definitely need a few more storm systems in here throughout february so we can keep things looking just as great as they are right now. we have some colder weather developing in the north bay. mid-50s in the south bay, it's not too cold. let's take you outside to our live hd sky camera. there's that layer of haze. it's been there the last seven days. if you're sick of it, your allergies are sick of it. you've been coughing, your eyes watering. some much larger numbers that you will like by wednesday and thursday and you can even see some of the haze there in san francisco with the slight offshore wind today. a lot of sunshine for those of you that did have off for martin luther king day. now to the larger changes offshore. 500 to 600 miles we have our next storm system. it's very impressive looking, tapping into a lot of moisture. the center of low pressure, unfortunately, will miss us. so we're out of the zone of the heaviest ra

pressure will drop to about 30 in napa. 31 santa rosa and concord. 30 vallejo and livermore 32 antioch. 28 at fairfield. but generally we won't see low temperature dropping that the 20s without exception. coldest readings will be around 30 to 32 agrees. pacific satellite image shows high pressure building rate now to take control of our weather deflecting the jet stream well to the north so weather disturbance headed our way. clear sky continuing and we have milder afternoon starting tomorrow with temperatures rising up that the mid 60's by the end of the week. look at tomorrow projected high pressure under sunny skies in the south bay we see high of 59 santa clara and san jose 60 at campbell and saratoga. on the peninsula lack for high of 57 at san mateo o. 59 redd with city and menlo park 60's at palo alto and mountain view. on the coast mid 50's. and pacifica and a half moon bay downtown san francisco will see high pressure rising up to 57 tomorrow. 55 in the sun set district. north bay we see upper 50's around 60. 59 degrees at calistoga tomorrow. 57 in napa sonoma. 60 s

rosa, napa, around freezing so watch out for black ice. that shouldn't be an issue for san francisco or oakland likely staying in the low 40s tonight. it's another "spare the air" day tomorrow. moderate air quality for the east bay and south bay. but unhealthy air quality levels for the north bay, central bay over the peninsula and also the coast. so watch out tomorrow for that poor air quality. it's all because of high pressure which dries out the atmosphere and cbs 5 hi-def doppler completely dry and that's been a trend. look at santa rosa. december, you had nearly a foot of rainfall triple the normal amount. now let's fast forward to january where you are right now. first half of the month less than one half of one inch of rainfall. so you had 20 times more rain in december than you have had in january so far. will the pattern change? the pattern with us will be with us throughout the next seven days. it's a huge bubble of high pressure. storm track stays north of the canadian border far from the bay area and with high pressure not

to the mid- to upper 40s near fairfield, napa, santa rosa. san jose in the upper 40s at 48 degrees. for tonight mostly clear skies. your monday mostly sunny and mild. your martin luther king junior day. for wednesday, wednesday clouds and we will drop off those temperatures and the latest forecast model increasing fog chances. san francisco 43 and san jose 36 degrees. a quick look at the public inauguration forecast for washington, d.c. you can see the cloud cover on the increase first thing tomorrow morning. there's a slight chance of some rain or snow by mid- to late afternoon but the bulk of the activity mainly out to the west. temperatures for afternoon highs mainly in the mid- to low 40s. we had lots of clear skies. high pressure is still in full command of our weather. mostly clear skies. we're going to hold on to that easterly flow. tuesday a few clouds into late afternoon. here's the next system, definitely a chance for rain. this has a chance of a few sprinkles. the next forecast bumping up those chances. into wednesday more cloud cover, this particular forecast not so agg

in santa rosa, 40 in vallejo. mild start in downtown san francisco at 46 degrees. you will see by 8:00 a.m. most of us will be sitting pretty in the 40s. 30s along the delta. by lunch all of that green starts to fill in on the screen. we'll see 60s. temperatures will continue to climb this afternoon. we'll cool it down again. in the 50s by 8:00 p.m. the afternoon highs, mid- to upper 60s in the south bay, wall to wall sunshine, clear conditions will persist. los gatos high of 68, 65 in sunnyvale, low 60s in the east bay, very mild for this time of year. fairfield 60, 62 in danville. east bay shoreline mid-60s for berkeley and oakland. 63 for downtown san francisco, 62 in san bruno. clear conditions will persist as high pressure remains in control for the next couple of days. big changes to talk about, the 7-day highlights the potential for some rain wednesday morning. most of that wet weather will stick north of the golden gate bridge. it has the potential to spread its way south. we'll return to the sunshine thursday and friday. saturday and sunday another storm is headed to our area. l
